Architecturally designed, the Inn is situated on a ridge overlooking both the Waitomo Caves village and the beautiful Waitomo valley. Sited to maximize both views and rural ambience it offers an authentic slice of rural NZ in the midst of the breath-taking scenery and adrenaline-pumping action that is the Waitomo region.

The Inn was constructed by its original owners (Kimba & Brett) at the turn of the century

(okay that’s 20 th Century). It was bought by the current owners (John & Helen) as a Mother’s Day present for Helen.

Significant use has been made of recycled NZ native timbers both in the flooring and the guest furniture, including the paua inlaid heart rimu breakfast table. The china, featuring the Pukeko (swamp hen) was made especially for the Inn by “Splashy” a local pottery.
